What this costs you

Nothing. Reading the guides costs nothing, requesting a case review costs nothing, and there is no account, no subscription and no point later where a charge appears. If you never contact an attorney, you will never have paid us anything.

Any fee an attorney charges is separate and is between you and them. Ask them to explain their fees and their agreement before you decide whether to hire them.

Who pays us, and for what

Attorneys and law firms do. They pay to receive case inquiries from people who have asked to be contacted, and they pay to be listed in our directory. That is the entire business, and it is what funds the guides you are reading.

This makes us an advertising service rather than a law firm. We do not represent anyone, we do not review cases, and nothing on this site is legal advice.

What paying us does not buy

  • A position in the directory. It is ordered alphabetically, and nobody can pay to be ordered differently.
  • A recommendation. We do not say one attorney suits you better than another, because we are not in a position to know that.
  • A say over what we publish. If an attorney who pays us asks for a factual page to be changed and it is correct as written, it stays as written. That rule is on corrections.
  • Exclusivity over you. Sending a request does not commit you to anyone.

Your choice stays yours

A request is a request, not an agreement. It does not create an attorney-client relationship and it does not guarantee that anyone takes the case. Ask your questions, discuss the fees, and take the time you need before choosing.

Any legal advice or representation comes from an attorney, never from us. That boundary is the reason this service can be free to you in the first place.

Why we put this on its own page

Because how a free site is funded tells you what to watch for in it. Ours is funded by the people we might introduce you to, which is a real reason to read us carefully, and saying so plainly is more useful than a page that does not mention it.

What we will and will not write, and the gates that enforce it, are on editorial policy.
